Frederic Martin is a photographer and a critic.
His work questions his daily life and in particular its intimacy. After his first book, ‘l’Absente’ published by Bis Éditions in which he recounts his life with his borderline ex-partner, he made a photographic film, ‘Sérotonine’ which questions the absence of a relationship to joy, happiness, the different mourning and sorrows that we are confronted with. Finally, the series ‘Inner City Blues’ is a quest for a lost place, a forgotten childhood.

– The series ‘L’Absente’ was presented at the Stenopedies festival in Clermont-Ferrand in October 2021
– ‘Serotonine’ at the Regards Croises in Aix en Provence in the fall of 2023
– ‘Inner City Blues’ at Gallery Le Lac Gele in Arles in the spring of 2024

At the same time, he runs the blog ‘5ruedu.fr’ on which he reviews photographic books every week. He also writes for the websites ‘lacritique.org’ and ‘9lives Magazine’. He is also a member of the photographic selection committee of the magazine ‘Pourtant’.
